I am
originally from Ireland and trained as a counsellor
/psychotherapist there. I am now registered with the British
Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
My approach is integrative.
Depending on the client's needs, I will draw on various
therapeutic techniques such as person-centred, humanistic,
psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy. My approach is
designed to explore all perspectives with you to overcome issues
of the past and present, enabling you to develop and progress
presently. I understand that this can be a challenging, and I
offer a safe environment for sessions to take place.
Many of the individuals I work with are
living abroad and navigating challenges such as loneliness,
identity questions, relationship difficulties, and professional
pressures. I have recently completed a research project that
explored the experience of living and working abroad through a
psychotherapeutic lens. I examined the emotional and
psychological challenges individuals face when relocating to a
new country, as well as the strategies and inner resources that
support adaptation and well-being during this transition.
I facilitate a monthly support
group for Message Paris members. This
peer support group supports mothers from those who are expecting
to those who have small and more grown-up children. Parenting
can make us feel stressed, low in mood and anxious, which in
turn can make parenting difficult. This group offers a supportive environment
in these circumstances.
