Individual therapy
I work to provide a safe space where you will be able to express
your thoughts and feelings freely. It is often helpful to talk about
these things with a therapist who is not involved with you in the
way that your loved ones are. Via this process, you can unload
things that are on your mind, obtain new perspectives about yourself
or situations, feel more empowered in your situations, or simply
feel better. My specialties include relationship issues, EMDR,
trauma, culture and identity, depression and anxiety.
I work from a relational approach, which is to believe that the
therapeutic relationship reflects on how you engage with people
outside of the therapy room. I also take multicultural perspectives
in treatment, meaning that I try to understand how we think, feel,
and behave based on our cultural and societal contexts.
Couple therapy
I work to provide a safe space where couples can express their
thoughts and feelings to each other and hear the other in a
non-defensive manner. In relationships, we sometimes get stuck into
patterns that hinder us from relating to our partner in a loving and
satisfying manner. Couple therapy can be a great way to explore and
understand what happens between the two partners so that you can
learn to communicate effectively with each other even during
disagreements.
