I offer a chance to speak
freely and explore what is happening for you without being judged. I
also have a practical outlook and adapt my experience as a therapist
to each person or couple to help move on from painful life
situations, past hurt and recover self- value.
When a person feels listened to and understood on a regular basis
they will gradually optimise new strengths and recognise their own
identity to decide on how they want to move forward with their own
life, at their own pace. Gaining insight into life's difficulties
helps in facing other problems that may arise in the future.
Originally from northern Ireland, I have travelled widely before
settling in France where I have lived for twenty six years. I
welcome diversity and have worked widely both in couples counselling
and personal therapy with people from varied backgrounds in the
international community and with many lifestyles and age-groups. I
am used to working with people far from home and the issues of loss
and belonging that this can bring up.
My work includes the following specialisms:
*Building strong relationships, especially trust and change for
couples
*Trauma and stress due to a range of reasons, unsafe childhood or
other past experience
*Expressing anger, understanding panic and anxiety
*Work-related stress
*Grief and bereavement
*Self-recovery from physical or emotional abuse
*Survival of life-threatening illnesses or situations
As a qualified therapist I am an accredited member of the French
Person Centred Association (AFP-ACP) and I abide by their code of
ethics. I am also a member of the European Network for
Person-Centred and Experiential Psychotherapy.
Sessions take place in my office at Place de Gaulle in the centre of
Antibes or online. The hourly rate is 50e.
