I am a male counselling psychologist with special interests in the themes of modern masculinity, life transitions (moving countries, job-related changes, etcetera) and trauma. After having lived in various countries in Africa, I moved to Geneva in 2016.
I believe that the client is the expert of his or her own life. Your skills, desires and needs are the starting point for our interaction during counselling. My training and experience as counselling psychologist are your guarantee that our work together will lead to solutions, healing and growth.

Like many other professionals in Switzerland, I too have travelled a lot and I too lived in many different coutries. I was born in Zambia, raised in the Netherlands, moved to Kenya in 1997 (as a foreign correspondent for print media) and onwards to South Africa in 2003. In 2011 I worked for a UN Agency in South Sudan, before moving back to Kenya again. It was during this second stay in Kenya that I decided to change careers: from journalist to psychologist. I pursued a Master degree in Counselling Psychology from the United States International University in Nairobi, and graduated in 2015. Since then I have been working with (mostly male) clients on the following issues:

  • trauma and stress
  • grief, loss and bereavement
  • addiction and dependency
  • the diagnosis of (prostate) cancer
  • identity and masculinity in the modern age

"What does it mean to be a (wo)man, today? What is the longing of my soul? How can I be true to myself, and those near and dear to me? How can I be a force of positivity in the life of my community, my country, and our world?”

If any of these questions resonate with you, or if you have other questions you would like to discuss with me, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me...
