Terms and Conditions for Website Users

Counselling In France operates an online directory for professional and qualified therapists under the Association Counselling In France 87/1382 (hereinafter "Counselling In France" or "the website") These terms and conditions govern the relationship between Counselling In France and the group of sister websites and you as the user, client or prospective client. They may be changed without prior notice at any time. By using this website, whether or not you make any engagement with any professional listed on the website, it means that you have understood and accepted these terms and conditions and read the disclaimer.

Counselling In France offers information and support for you, the user, and displays details of therapists who, as the service providers, advertise their services on their own page, the text and content of which is supplied by the therapist when they join the website. The service provider will at all times be the therapist and not Counselling In France. All of the therapists are employed, self-employed or have created an association in France and their practice is regulated by their respective regulatory bodies, not by Counselling In France. Any therapeutic contract will be formed between you and your chosen therapist and not with Counselling In France.

DISCLAIMER

Please satisfy yourself that the therapist that you are contacting has the correct qualifications to meet your needs - this is something that can be clarified at the assessment session before you start working together or before you meet. All the therapists on this website have stated that they have an appropriate qualification to practise, whether they have been trained within or outside the United Kingdom. All have agreed, as a condition of being on this site, to work within the The BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, whether they are members of that body or not.

SUPERVISION
All, within those guidelines, have adequate professional or peer group supervision and all have agreed to maintain client confidentiality within the contract made with the client at the start of therapy. (See
All About Counselling page for more details). Counselling In France provide a secure conferencing system which any of therapists can use to book supervision rooms. This complies with the supervision guidelines from the BACP, the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, which is a minimum of 1.5 hours per calendar month, regardless of number of contracted clients and can be a mix of one to one, peer, telephone and online.

Counselling In France does not accept any responsibility or liability for the work status of any of the therapists represented on this site, nor their legal status, their provision of insurance and adequate supervision or of the efficacy of therapy of any of the therapists on this website. It remains the individual counsellor's responsibility to be accountable to clients and the French authorities and to truthfully state their qualifications and status to clients and to work within the guidelines that all the therapists accept before applying to be represented on Counselling In France.

It also remains the clients' responsibility to be satisfied with the therapist's qualifications before embarking on therapy and to be happy that the therapist that they are seeing is working legally and within the guidelines stated above.

All counsellors and therapists on this website have paid an equal share towards the upkeep and advertising of the website which allows them to have their own web page and to become a member of the Counselling In France association, which is non-profit-making.
