Psychotherapy and Health Education
LYON - PARIS The therapeutic relationship is a joint
effort between client and practitioner to
explore the problems and concerns that the client wishes to resolve.
I am a clinical social worker with a background in behavioural
health. In my practice, I use an eclectic approach, which means that
I draw from my training in relational, cognitive-behavioural,
solution-focused and psychodynamic therapy to understand and respond
to client’s diverse needs. Although every client-therapist
relationship is unique, I have outlined here a seven-step process to
give you an idea of how our work together may evolve:
Understanding those issues
in the context of the larger portrait of your life -past,
present and future
Navigating your present
situation by exploring your questions and options
Identifying problematic
patterns and their origins
Finding alternative
strategies and approaches
Setting realistic goals
and clarifying a direction for the future
Examining progress
I have fifteen years of
clinical experience with individuals and families in the United
States, Kenya, and France, and have worked successfully with a range
of issues, including depression, anxiety, adjustment difficulties,
eating disorders, substance abuse and relational problems.
I am from the United States, but grew up in Africa and Asia, and
have lived as an expatriate most of my life. I currently divide my
time between Paris and Lyon. If you would like to make an
appointment, please call or email me to set up an interview.
